Aimed to hone the skills of researchers on technical writing and presentation, a two-day Technical Writing Workshop for Scientific Publication was conducted by the ARMM Health Research Consortium (AHRC), in coordination with the Philippine Council for Health Research (PCHRD-DOST), on June 17-18, 2013 in Cagayan de Oro City.

The workshop was intended for researchers of the 2012 Pfizer PEER Health-funded program entitled “Assessment of Maternal and Child Health Care Services Delivery to Internally Displaced Persons in ARMM” namely  Dr. Carmelita G. Hansel, Ms. Husna Dimapalao, and Mr. Camar Ameril of MSU-Marawi, and Ms. Rowena Caro-Benavides of MSU-Maguindanao, in preparation for their impending presentation to the Pfizer Board  as well as a their plans of getting published in a scientific journal. The researchers gained further knowledge on the basic elements of scientific writing and the protocols and procedures of scientific publication as they were closely mentored by Dr. Cecilia C. Santos-Acuin of UP Manila, PCHRD Consultant. Also present during the workshop was RHRDC XII proponent Dr. Andrea V. Campado of MSU-Gensan.

The workshop ended with the proponents and PCHRD representatives coming up with a list of next steps including the Pfizer Board meeting tentatively scheduled on the second week of July 2013.
